Oversized Remote Control

Posted in Gadgets on Tuesday October 31, 2006 by andtheivy

Usually I am a bigger fan of miniatures.  But I think this is a pretty darn good rival.

“Tired of always losing your TV remote? You won’t lose it if it weren’t so small!

Check out this super-sized TV remote from Brookstone! Link – via Coolest Gadgets”

This lady knitted a full-size ferrari.  Please go here and see said car.

“You have to wait for the site to load, but it’ll be worth it when you see the FULL-SIZE RED FERRARI she knitted with 12 miles of yarn.”

Men With Cramps

This is hilarious.  Very reminiscent of Christopher Guest, who we all know is on the list of the Top 5 Most Funniest People Who Ever Exited The Womb And Set Foot On The Planet Earth.

“This was taped to the glass front door of the Silver Dragon Chinese Restaurant. Through the glass one could witness the charred remains of the kitchen. Found on December 25, 2004, when I visited my parents for Christmas.”

Um.  Or I could have found this EXACT same note at my work.  If you catch my drift.

German Woman Accidentally Mailed Cat

Posted in News on Wednesday October 25, 2006 by andtheivy

“A 67-year-old woman of Rosdorf in Schleswig Holstein, Germany, accidentally sent her cat Felix in the mail, after the animal snuck inside the parcel she was sending to her nephew.

Edith Schonberg mailed the birthday parcel without realizing Felix was there. She said she believes the three-year-old cat must have entered the box while she was looking for some tape to seal the parcel. The error was realized only when a postman, at the central sorting office, heard the cat parcel and called police.

Schonberg said, ‘I had not even noticed Felix was missing until they called. I thought he was asleep.'”

New Sony Bravia advert

Posted in Gadgets on Monday October 23, 2006 by andtheivy

“Remember the Sony Bravia commercial with the thousands of balls bouncing down a street in San Francisco? Anyway here’s a new Sony Bravia commercial that is nearly as cool as the first one. Check it out, it’s awesome. ”

From Sony website:
“Our latest TV ad – featuring massive paint explosions – took 10 days and 250 people to film. Huge quantities of paint were needed to accomplish this, which had to be delivered in 1 tonne trucks and mixed on-site by 20 people.

The effect was stunning, but afterwards a major clean-up operation was required to clear away all that paint!

The cleaning took 5 days and 60 people. Thankfully, the use of a special water-based paint made it easy to scrape-up once the water had evaporated.

Keeping everyone safe was also an important factor. A special kind of non-toxic paint was used that is safe enough to drink (it contains the same thickeners that are sometimes used in soups). It was also completely harmless to the skin.”
